At the Spring 2014 Concert at CAHS, several bands performed including the Freshmen Band, Concert Band, Symphony Band and the Orchestra.  The Symphony Band and Orchestra then combined on stage on the final number, and for the 1st time in, performing 'Warrior Legacy' by Soon Hee Newbold in a thrilling rendition of this tune.  (Play the audio clip below or HERE to download the file - .mp3 format)

We congratulate ALL the members of all the ensembles in another fine concert and ending the 2013/2014 school season in true fashion.  An extra round of applause goes out to all the seniors who performed their last time on the stage with Carman-Ainsworth.  Many of us and many of your fellow students will miss you, your musical talent, and your contributions over the years to the C/A music program.

Each year MSBOA recognizes a Teacher of the YEar for Band and a Teacher of the Year for Orchestra. The process typically begins in the Spring within the MSBOA Districts nominating a candidate in each classification.  The MSBOA board reviews and selects as many as three in each area to submit to the entire active membership. 
Benjy Jones was awarded this honor for District III, which is the area that Carman-Ainsworth schools compete in for Band & Orchestra, as well as Solo & Ensemble.  This award and recognition was presented to Mr. Jones at the Band Awards Night, on Wednesday May 14th by a cohort from MSBOA.  We congratulate Benjy on this honor, as well as all the staff in the music department for their dedication and hard work. 

It goes without saying that C/A presents one of the finest music programs in the region and continues to impress folks and we are so very fortunate to have a great cast to lead the way.
