]]><![CDATA[Blue Brigade headed to State Championship]]>Wed, 30 Oct 2019 02:18:00 GMThttps://www.cabandsorch.org/ca-times-news--events/blue-brigade-headed-to-state-championshipCongratulations to the Carman-Ainsworth High School Blue Brigade Marching Band on qualifying for the Michigan Competing Band Association (MCBA) State Championship this Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Ford Field in Detroit!

The 70-member Blue Brigade will be one of 10 bands from across the state competing in Flight 2; performances begin at 11:00 a.m. and the Awards Ceremony is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. Tickets for the Championship are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and free for children under 5 years of age and are available the day of the event at Ford Field; purchasers must use cash only.

This is a reminder of our Spring Concert will take place on Thursday, May 16 2019
in the HS auditorium. The concert begins at 7:00pm and will feature all of the CAHS Instrumental Ensembles.
All members should report by 6:30pm, dressed in concert attire, ready to warm-up. We would love to have a large audience for our final performance of the year, so please spread the word and invite family and friends!

Prior to the concert, we will have a representative in the auditorium to speak about an upcoming fundraiser opportunity for the Cavalier Band Boosters. I know it sounds a little crazy, but has proven to be quite successful with many area Band/Orchestra programs. The concept is a Mattress Sale and we will make profit off each mattress that is sold.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 15 in the HS Main Gym.

Also, as part of our concert Thursday evening, we will be having a Bake Sale before and after the performance. If you would like to contribute to the sale, all baked goods would need to be individually wrapped.

]]><![CDATA[State Band Festival Info - CAHS Concert & Symphony Bands]]>Wed, 17 Apr 2019 14:09:13 GMThttps://www.cabandsorch.org/ca-times-news--events/state-band-festival-info-cahs-concert-symphony-bandsBoth the CAHS Concert Band and Symphony Band will be performing in the MSBOA State Band & Festival at Livonia Churchill High School, on Friday, April 26 2019. All Symphony Band members should arrive at CAHS in performance attire; please be on time as we have a very tight schedule due to transportation!
Concert Band members should have transportation arranged for pick-up at CAHS upon return as the school will not be open for access.

Adult chaperones will be needed and will ride the bus and/or supervise while at festival. Please let me know
ASAP if your parent is willing to be a chaperone. All Chaperones will need to complete an I-Chat Background Check prior to the trip.

Please remember this is a required performance and you must participate. If you have any questions
regarding State Festival, please let me know.

As we are hosting the District III Band Festival again this year, we are still in need of several adult volunteers to assist throughout the weekend. Please click on the links below to sign-up to volunteer, if you are able. If you know of other adults, not necessarily affiliated with our program, who might be willing to assist, please share this info with them. Ann Giese and Todd Bostwick will be present at the concerts at
Carman-Ainsworth High School this week, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
They'll be there to assist with getting parent volunteers to sign-up for various activities for
both Friday & Saturday.

Symphony Band Pre-Festival Concert @ 7:00pm
Report time will still be 6:00pm

Wednesday (2/20)

Pre-Festival Concert: Freshmen/Concert Band & Symphonic Orchestra @ 7:00pm
Report time will be 6:30pm
The MS ensembles will also be joining us for this performance

Friday (2/22)

Festival Performance: Symphonic Orchestra @ 8:30pm

Saturday (2/23)

The performance is at 8:00 PM, and the show is entitled 'War Dance'. Tickets are limited, at $10.00. If you plan on attending the performance, please purchase the tickets from me so the band gets to keep the money. Tickets will also be available at the gate.

Please cheer and encourage all the players for all their hard work and dedication this season
as they head into the last competition of the 2018 marching season, and
with a great opportunity to head to Ford Field, for the State Finals
on Saturday November 3rd!!!
